Concept will offer an extensive music program to its members, including two
concerts and multiple filksinging rooms.
FILK SCHEDULE NOW ONLINE
The main concert will take place Friday night in one of the larger program rooms. Solo and group performers from many different traditions, including filksinging, contemporary folk, traditional folk, and re-created medieval music, will share the stage from 7 to 11 PM. Specific performers will be announced as soon as possible. A sales table will be provided outside the concert room for Friday evening only
On Thursday night, we will hold an open mike concert. Performers can sign up before Concept, during the first day, or even during the concert.
On both evenings, we will have two filking rooms open throughout the evening, and after the concerts end, we will make the concert room available as a third filking room. On Saturday evening, we will have three filking rooms available throughout the evening. Two rooms will be designated for bardic circle and chaos styles. The third room will be used for special interest activities of various types, or as general overflow.
If you would like to organize a special filking event in our third room, please submit a proposal to whswhs@primenet.com. We will consider performance styles, such as spoken recital, instrumental, or choral; national or subcultural idioms from Celtic to blues; or special themes such as bawdy material, humor, or songs based on a specific author such as Kipling or Lackey -- or anything else that sounds interesting. Time slots will be two hours long and will be scheduled between 10 PM and 6 AM, with the earlier slots being assigned first. Most of our Friday concert time has been assigned, but if you are interested in performing, we will still look at proposals.
