She is a journalist who writes for such magazines as Cinefantastique, Horror, Library Journal, and The Writer's Network. She was the poetry columnist for The Writer magazine for seven years. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in such genre publications as Space & Time, tomorrowsf, Terra Incognita, Cemetary Dance, and Grue.
Denise is a member of the Undead Poets Society, which performs vampire-themed poetry readings that celebrate the yearly publication of Meg Thompson's anthology Rouge et Noir. She has been nominated for the Rhysling Award for science fiction poetry and has appeared on panels at Loscon, Westercon, Worldcon, World Horror Convention, and Dracula 97.
She and her writing partner Nancy Ellis Taylor have written several scripts. Their screenplay, "Dracula's Granddaughter," was previously optioned by Rearguard Productions. Denise is currently working on what she hopes will be a series of mystery novels and a dark fantasy novel. |
