BayCon 2027 will host Westercon 79 over the US Independence Day weekend (July 2-5, 2027), after the members of Westercon 77 voted to select the bid from the Society for the Promotion of Speculative Fiction. The results of the election, as reported to the Westercon 77 Business Meeting, were as follows:

In keeping with BayCon practice, memberships (badges) to attend BayCon 2027 / Westercon 79 will not be available until the conclusion of BayCon 2026. Those people who voted in Westercon 79 will receive a $20 credit toward the cost of a BayCon 2027 attendance badge, and are counted as Supporting members of Westercon 79.
