No bids filed to host the 2028 West Coast Science Fantasy Conference/Westercon 80. Bids can still file as qualified write-ins before the end of voting at Westercon 78/BayCon 42 (Marriott Hotel, Santa Clara, California) at 6 p.m. PDT on Saturday, July 4, 2026 by delivering the documents specified in Section 3.3 of the Westercon Bylaws to the Site Selection desk during open hours or sending filing documents to the 2028 Westercon Site Selection Administrators.

The 2028 Westercon Site Selection Ballot is available on the Westercon website. Instructions for voting by mail are on the ballot. Voting will happen at Westercon 78/BayCon 42 at the Site Selection desk on Friday, July 3 from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday, July 4 from Noon-6 p.m. Results will be announced at the Westercon Business Meeting on Sunday, July 5, at 11:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room (Panels 3).

Should no qualified bid receive sufficient votes, or should “None of the Above” win the election, the Westercon Business Meeting can select a site for Westercon 80, or should they be unable to decide, the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society will decide where Westercon 80 will be held.
